Sterilization

Everything is sterilized at our clinic “Edenta”except those materials and instruments which are for one-time use only or are sold in sterile packaging.

We are seriously aware not only of the health of our patients but of our own health either. All the staff at our clinic gets its change of medical suits and protective agents in time. All operating rooms are equipped with bactericidal irradiators – recirculators of the newest generation. There are two separate sterilization rooms with dry-heat ovens, autoclaves, ultrasonic baths for processing tiny instruments and a device for prevacuum instrument packaging.

Important characteristics of modern sterilizers are: precise temperature exposure, processing cycle time, the volume of sterilization container, possibilities of defining the sterilization stage.

Factual proof of the sterilization results are the log book and indication strip. In every operation room at our clinic there is a sterilization container “Pandem-1” which serves for storage of sterile instruments.

Our clinic uses antiseptics and disinfectants of the firm “BODE” (Hamburg, Germany). This firm is one of the leading in manufacturing of antiseptics for skin and hands, disinfectants for instruments and surfaces.

There are the following methods of sterilization which are to be performed at polyclinics specialized in stomatology:

• steam under pressure
• air (dry heat)
• chemical

Steam under pressure sterilizer, air sterilizer (dry-heat oven) and autoclave are to be present at any dental clinic.

Steam under pressure sterilizer is used for dressing materials, instruments, parts of devices, glassware and injections sterilization.

Dry-heat sterilizer is for surgical instruments, parts and units of devices, injections sterilization.

Chemical one is for instruments, rubber goods and plastic.
