Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal ceramics
PFM ceramics is still very popular in dentistry. It is reliable, durable and has wonderful aesthetic qualities. Besides, it is rather cheap. And the method of its making has been used for many years.
PFM ceramics in dentistry is a kind of tooth prostheses made of metal. On the outer surface of this prosthesis a layer of fired porcelain is kept.
The prostheses may have a look of a single crown or a bridge.
PFM ceramics possesses the advantages of highly precise slip castings combined with high aesthetic effect of ceramic coping. It gives a great possibility of reconstructing the shape and colour of restored teeth.
For coping metal frames ceramic masses are used. The last are offered by producers in great variety.
What kind of ceramics is better?
According to their technical characteristics synthetic ceramic masses are better. They have the same coefficient of hardness and elasticity that tooth enamel has.
The main thing is not the firms' names of which not so many patients are aware, but keeping to the method of ceramic making and the skills of a dental technician.
Anyway, at our clinic the most modern materials and methods are used, we guarantee it!
