Slip castings
This type of crowns represents solid metal casting.
Taking into consideration aesthetics dentists use slip castings only on posterior teeth. Owing to high solidity they are recommended as basis for bridges.
Because of smooth surface of these crowns it is very easy to perform hygienic procedures with these constructions.
Slip castings are more preferable when patients suffer from occlusion lowering as a result of teeth abrasion or when it is necessary to restore interior teeth with ceramic or PFM ceramic crowns.
Occlusion is made higher owing to posterior teeth on which more reliable slip castings are put. Though it is not necessary in all the cases.
The main advantage of slip castings is that they are less expensive than all the rest crowns.
